Bodyfaze Beginners Pilates in Enfield – 5 week course

We have some exciting news. Bodyfaze are holding a 5 week beginners Pilates course starting on Tuesday 28th June at the North London Yoga Studio, in Grange Park, N21 at 7.25pm. This course is suitable for the complete beginner to Pilates or for those wishing to revisit the fundamental basics of Pilates.

If a Tuesday is not suitable, we have a mixed ability class on a Wednesday evening at Bush Hill Park Bowls and Tennis Club, Abbey Road, Bush Hill Park, EN1 at 7pm. Please see our calendar below for all our classes.
The 5 week course will be taking you through the Pilates Matwork repertoire.
Joseph's 34 classical moves were originally called "Contrology" and were a specific way of working with a focus on flow and movement. Contrology was later renamed Pilates by "the Elders".
An emphasis in the beginners class will be on the classical 34 moves but there will also be non classical exercises, as is in most Pilates classes, due to our modern and sedentary lifestyle we have had to modify and adapt movements to allow the body to move.
What Is Pilates?
"Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects wrong postures, restores physical vitality, invigorates the mind, and elevates the spirit" - Joseph Pilates.
What is Pilates?
A very brief history lesson as there is much written regarding Mr Joseph Pilates, a very athletic little man who can be seen in old footage wearing tiny little shorts, showing off his athletic build but by watching him teach, was very passionate in his teachings.
He was born in Germany in 1883 and as a child (being quite sickly) dedicated himself to gymnastics, martial arts, boxing and bodybuilding. Joseph was also quite an inventor and created many pieces of apparatus and equipment to enhance physical health and fitness for himself and others. His knowledge was well beyond his time.

Bodyfaze have a 24hr cancellation policy; if you cancel your session 24hrs in advance, the class fee will remain on your account for you to use in any class (subject to availability) until the expiry date.
Some classes may have a waiting list. If you wish to be added to the list, if a place is cancelled you will be notified a minimum of 24hrs in advance that you have been dropped in to the available space. Don't forget to cancel if you are no longer able to attend.
