I am a fully certified and insured Level 3 Matwork Pilates instructor and I have been reformer qualifications. In addition to formal training, I have taken many workshops including Small Equipment, Pilates for Active Aging, The Moves workshop and Barre Pilates and continue to upgrade my skills.
I trained under the expert guidance of Joanne Cobbe, the founder and principle tutor of JPilates Ltd. Joanne has both worked and taught in the fitness industry for over 17 years and was the Principal Tutor with the Pilates Institute. She works as a consultant for other fitness and Pilates training companies and presents annually for the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and around the world. Joanne was also a finalist for Pilates Anytime, a company with International acclaim and with the smallest of margins missed being the next Pilates Anytime Instructor.
I have been in the fitness industry since 2000 and am a personal fitness trainer and martial arts instructor. I teach various classes throughout the week from circuits, martial arts and Pilates. I have successfully run a small gym in North London. I found that there was a natural progression and cross over from my training to Pilates.
From when we wake in the morning to going to sleep at night our bodies are required to move. I was consistently being presented with people that generally found movement difficult and was unable to perform the simplest of tasks. Their sedentary lifestyles or working environment forced little movement in the body. I wanted to encourage movement. This lead me to seek a method that enabled or enhanced their ability to get the body moving.
